  • Think of search engines placement before beginning a web design project. Choose the right keywords. Spend a lot of time thinking about keywords and site descriptions. Make sure to use keywords related to your site. Don't use words like sex just to increase your traffic.
  • Include the most important keywords in the title tag, but your title must remain a readable sentence, non just a list of keywords. The majority search engines & directories place a lot of importance on keywords of your title tag. Your title tag should be 50 characters max. Choose a different title tag for each page of your site.
  • Include in your html code meta keywords & meta description, they can help your search engine listings. Meta tags were created to help search engines find out important information about your page. Your Keywords Meta: about 1.000 characters including spaces. Repeat the same word up to 4 times in the keyword meta and don't forget plurals. Your Description Meta: about 250 characters including spaces. Include the most important keyword phrases.
  • Each page must have over 200 words. Use keyword phrases used in your other tags. The text on your page is very important in order to achieve better search engine listings.
  • Add the "alt" attribute to any image on your page. Each image can help your listings ncluding a keyword phrase related to the image.
  • Time takes to get listed at the major search engines: 1 to 6 weeks. Periodically resubmit your site.
